RAMECHHAP: Construction of a bridge over Likhu River that links the part of the central to the eastern region has been completed at Sanghutar in Ramechhap district.
Dayakanta Jha, an engineer at the Departmental Road Office, Charikot, said that the bridge was constructed in three years. The bridge links Okhaldhunga district of the eastern region and Ramechhap of the central region.
The bridge was constructed with government's Rs 70 million investment.
After the construction of the bridge, people of Okhaldhunga, Udayapur, Solukhumbu and other districts of the region would have an easy access to means of transportation.
Earlier, people of different villages of Okhaldhunga district used to trek for up to four days from Sanghutar by carrying their goods. Now, tractors and trucks have started transporting goods after the construction of the bridge, local traders said.
