BHAKTAPUR: Brishaspati and Rajan Memorial International School (RMIS) won their respective matches of the fifth CoAS Inter-school Running Cricket Tournament here at the Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya grounds today.

In the first match, Brihaspati trounced a hapless Greenland Children Academy (GCA) by 85 runs. Man-of-the-match Pratik Rajbhandari hammered a 46-ball 64 as Brihaspati piled on 141-7 in 20 overs. Ashish Bhandari and Prajwol Gurung picked up three wickets each as GCA were bowled out for a paltry 56 in 12.4 overs.

Dipendra Shah was the only GCA batsman to resist Brihaspati bowling attack with a 16-ball 14. Pratik Kanth and Swornim Malla also had one scalp each.

Earlier, Pratik clobbered eight boundaries and a six in his aggressive knock to help Brihaspati build a defendable total. Pratik Kanth made a 22-ball 26 with three fours and a six. Amrit Thapa grabbed three wickets for GCA, while Pratik Shrestha and Sagar Pandit snared two each.

RMIS, meanwhile, edged Galaxy Public School by 15 runs riding on an allround performance from Aryan Adhikari. RMIS made 128-6 where Pramod Khatri top scored with 43 runs from 36 balls that included seven boundaries.

Man-of-the-match Aryan — who also chipped in 28 valuable runs in RMIS innings — returned with the figures of 4-15 from four overs restricting Galaxy to 113-8. Pasang Sherpa made a match-high 43-ball 44 with the help of four fours and two sixes. Suyoj Tamrakar made 24 off 26.
