KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on Sunday called up 19 players for the ACC U-16 Elite Cup cricket tournament closed-camp. The ACC U-16 Elite Cup will be held in Malaysia from May 2-13. The players included Dipendra Chand, Rupesh Bastola, Kalicharan Yadav, Rabin Gupta, Aakash Bista, Adil Khan, Asif Sheikh, Mukund Yadav, Sashi Bhusan Mishra, Nitesh Thakur, Alfaz Mansuri, Noor Dhoj Sen, Lokesh Jha, Ajay Sahani, Anup Neupane, Heman Rai, Kushal Bhurtel, Samsad Ansari and Jagadish Chand.
Veterans’ tennis
KATHMANDU: The first Citizens Bank Veterans Tennis Championship is beginning here from Monday. In all, 133 players will compete in the five-day tournament which includes four categories – above-35, 45, 55, 65 — in singles and three categories — above-35, 45, 55 – in doubles events. The winners and runners-up in the singles events will pocket Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000, while no cash prizes are kept for the doubles events. The tournament sponsored by Citizens Bank is organised by the Dasharath Stadium Tennis Complex management committee of the All Nepal Lawn Tennis Association.
