CIAA files graft case against 41

KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) today filed corruption cases against 41 individuals including top officials of Bara district at the Special Court .
A case was filed against Bara District Division Engineer Sital Prasad Gupta and Local Development Officer Murari Prasad Nepal and other assistants and technical staff who were involved in a corruption case in relation to construction of roads.
The CIAA accused them of amassing Rs 20.7 million in 15 sections of roads in the districts. Gupta and Nepal were arrested and produced before the court while the others are at large.
The anti-graft body filed the case on the basis of DIG Ramesh Shekhar Bajracharya’s report.
