KATHMANDU :The first meeting of the incumbent government's cabinet held at Prime minister’s office this morning ended with an objection from the ministers representing UDMF on the relief packages thought to be unveiled today.
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai had called the cabinet today in order to endorse a relief package for the general people before announcing it in public.
“Minsters representing UDMF has demanded certain amendments on the relief packages,” said an official at the PM’s office.
It was however heard that the package includes curbing corruption, effective security system, good governance, special relief package for underprivileged, poverty-stricken, control over the prices of consumer goods, creating jobs for unemployed, providing lands for landless among others.
Meanwhile, today’s cabinet has endorsed the name of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha as the Government’s Spokesperson and former Governor of NRB Dipendra Bahadur Chhetri’s name for the post of Vice-chairman of National Planning Commission.
