Call to control drug addiction‚ smuggling

BANKE: Participants of a programme organised here on Tuesday stressed on joint making efforts to control drug smuggling and addiction.
Speaking at the programme organised by the Home Ministry in coordination with Recovery Nepal, Home Joint Secretary Janak Raj Dahal said the government has been constructing two rehabilitation centers in Itahari and Nepalgunj with a view to controlling drug addiction as per the state policy.
Many youths in Nepalgunj Municipality are nto the drugs as the city is on the border that the local residents and police role to control drug addiction is vital.
On the occasion, Chief District Officer of Banke Basudev Dahal expressed his confidence that the drug users and drug smuggling in the district can be controlled if people from all quarters join in. He said drug smuggling cannot be controlled without the local residents’ support.
Representatives from the different government and non-government organisations active in the district participated in the programme.
