KATHMANDU: Metropolitan Police Range, Hanumandhoka, together with locals and Armed Police Force personnel destroyed a cannabis farm in Jaladevi Tole, Kirtipur- 8, on Saturday. MPR in-charge Senior Superintendent of Police Jaya Bahadur Chand was also present. However, there were no arrests.

Man found dead

KATHMANDU: An unidentified man in his 40s was found dead in Shantinagar, Kathmandu, on Saturday. The body was spotted at around 6.30 pm. Police said the identity of the deceased was yet to be established. No injury marks were found in the body, police said. The body has been sent to the TU Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj for a post-mortem.

Snatchings, burglaries

KATHMANDU: Police said three separate incidents of snatching and burglaries were reported in the Kathmandu Valley on Friday. A motorcycle-borne gang snatched a gold chain from Laxmi Pandey (45) in Babar Mahal. Similarly, a masked gang brandishing khukuris overpowered 70-year-old Sushila Maskey and made away with Rs 2.27 lakh and a one-tola gold ornament in Kalopul. The gang also thrashed Shrestha leaving her injured. In a separate incident, a three-member gang robbed Bijaya Shah and Nilima Chalise of two laptop computers in Nagarkot. The suspects are at large.
