KATHMANDU: Carlsberg, the official sponsor of the European Championship 2012, is on Friday launching the Carlsberg Euro Gaming Zone at various bars and lounges of Kathmandu.
Fans across the Valley can get a coupon upon the purchase of a bottle or can Carlsberg beer to participate in the Carlsberg Euro Gaming Zone, which will be available in various outlets in Kathmandu. The event is managed by Party Nepal.
“If you are a football fan and impatiently waiting for the Euro to begin, turn the time around by playing football games in play-station with your opponents for a bottle/can of Carlsberg beer,” said Gorkha Brewery, the brewer of Carlsberg beer in Nepal, in a press release.” Through the Gaming Zone, fans are encouraged to enjoy the spirit of Euro before the actual games begin,” the release added.
“Carlsberg has been associated with football for nearly 40 years. It became the first commercial sponsor of Denmark’s national team in the 1970s and began its international sponsorships in 1988,” the release said. Carlsberg has sponsored every UEFA European Football Championship since 1988 and is one of the top sponsors for Euro 2012 to be held jointly in Poland and Ukraine from June 8 to July 1.
