UDAYAPUR: Laborers working at the Udayapur Cement Factory, one of the biggest Industry of the country, have obstructed its General Manager (GM) from entering the Industry office from Sunday.
It is said that problems have been surfaced to operate the industry and to carry out other works due to the absence of GM Anil Kumar Jha since a long time.
According to an employee of the Industry and Chairman of the General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions (Gefont), Sagarmatha zone, Tribikram Gyawali, they have started agitation being dissatisfied from the working style of Jha.
Laborers claimed that Jha is living in Kathmandu taking all facilities provided by the Industry.
The laborers submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai through the Chief District Officer of Udayapur, Bir Bahadur Rai, on Sunday.
Assuring to send the memo to the Prime Minister's Office, Rai requested laborers not to intensify the problem.
A discussion among the GM, laborers and local administration has been set for Monday on contemporary issues, said Rai.
The laborers said they will not allow the GM to enter at the premises of the Industry at any expense.
