RAMECHHAP: New Diamond Academy, Gokul Ganga HS School, Chandeshwori Youth Club and Dhankuta District Sports Development Committee entered the semi-finals of the first Chandeshwori Cup Open Women’s Volleyball Tournament here on Friday. In Group ‘A’ matches, New Diamond thrashed Manthali HS School 25-2, 25-3, 25-4, while Gokul also beat Manthali HS School 25-6, 25-13, 25-17. Likewise in Group ‘B’, hosts Chandeshwori defeated Manthali Martyrs Memorial Multiple Campus 25-11, 17-25, 18-25, 26-24, 15-8, while Dhankuta rout same team 25-16, 25-12, 25-12. The top three teams will get Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively.

Baitadi feted with

KATHMANDU: The Garnish School of Hospitality Management on Friday honoured Region-VI (Baitadi) with cash rewards for winning the Wai Wai U-19 National Cricket Tournament. CA member Gagan Thapa feted the Baitadi team with Rs 50,000, a day after they lifted their maiden U-19 National title with a four-wicket victory over Region-II (Birgunj) at the Tribhuvan University Stadium on Thursday. College president Sher Bahadur Chand also congratulated Baitadi for winning the title. Baitadi cruised to their second age group title in a month after they had won the U-16 National Cricket Tournament.
