KATHMANDU: Apprehensively — it began five years ago. They were strangers, yet they had to be an open book reminiscing every chapter of life. This can never be easy, especially when renowned entrepreneur Binod Chaudhary had to open up to journalist Sudeep Shrestha. An ice breaker was just what they needed, which was a trek of 15 days to Thorangla Pass.

“Like everyone I had a preconceived notion that Binod Chaudhary was brought up with a silver spoon. But I was proven wrong. His childhood was like any ordinary person’s and everybody could relate to it,” shared Shrestha during launch of Chaudhary’s autobiography Binod Chaudhary — Atmakatha on February 2 at nepalaya.

There were a lot of similarities, yet a huge difference set Chaudhary apart — his discipline in life that helped him to ascend to the pinnacle of success.

Shrestha recalled a light moment after the book was finished. “He (Chaudhary) said, ‘If you were a woman, we would have fallen in love with each other’.” After all, jokes apart, “I shared every aspect of my life with Sudeep ji in the process of writing the book,” said Chaudhary.

This was the beginning, beginning of an autobiography, beginning of friendship, beginning of bonding between Chaudhary and Shrestha and the journey’s outcome reflects in Binod Chaudhary —

Atmakatha.
