Civil Mall's surprise for all

KATHMANDU: “Saturday is for having fun and we set out this morning to have fun,” said Sankar Shrestha from Maharajgunj who was with his friends at the Civil Mall on July 7. He was one of the lucky shoppers at the mall to win a gift voucher of Civil Mall Surprise Offer.

It was the second episode of Civil Mall Surprise Offer, which started on June 16 and will continue on till September 15. Anyone who shops at this mall gets a coupon and the lucky ones will be picked by the Civil Mall’s Marketing team and handed gift

hampers.

“That is the surprise,” said Nishan Shrestha, the mall’s head of marketing and

communications.

According to him, 10 lucky shoppers will get surprise gift hampers which include QFX movie tickets, home appliances, cash vouchers, mobile phones every day, while the bumper surprise includes Yamaha R15 version 2.0, Samsung Galazy S3 and a trip to Dubai.

And every Saturday, shoppers here can add a musical rendezvous to their trip.

Adding to the delightful shopping on July 7 were the Nepali bands Robin And The New Revolution and Nepsydaz. They performed rocking and hip shaking numbers for the people who had come to shop.

Robin And The New Revolution played their famous song like Chiso Chiso Hawa Ma while Manas Ghale and Gyanon Chitrakar of Nepsydaz spit rap songs like Chudeina and Suke Ko Jiuma Lure Ko Baal.

Shrestha shared that “it was a mix of rock and hip-hop for the mixed crowd that comes to our mall”.

With such offers customers like Sankar were happy. “I had a great time shopping here as well as listening to the bands. It was nice. But then I wish that I had won other gift hampers than the movie tickets.”
