NEPALGUNJ: Speakers at a programme have stressed on the need that the basic pillars of human rights should be norms of democracy, press freedom and independent judiciary.
At an interaction programme organised here Saturday to mark the 13 Th anniversary of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), participating speakers suggested that basic information of human rights should be given to the public by the commission.
At the programme Chief Judge of the Appellate Court Nepalgunj Keshav Prasad Mainali said problems will be solved if principles of justice and human rights are put into practice.
Also speaking were Commission's Regional Director Murari Kharel, DIG Parbati Thapa, Banke CDO Dhundiraj Pokhrel, among others, called for commission's wider role in the days ahead.
