KATHMANDU: A taskforce meeting comprising Unified CPN Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitoula, CPN UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and UDMF Chairman Bijaya Kumar Gachhar has inched closer to consensus on the ongoing political deadlock.
NC and UML will join the government under the leadership of Dr Baburam Bhattarai until May 27 – the deadline of promulgation of the new constitution, a source privy to the meeting said.
It is learnt that the taskforce is inching closer to consensus which will sort the issue of the formation of a national consensus government as well as the prickly issues – forms of governance and federalism - related to constitution drafting.
However, the taskforce is yet to forge a consensus on whether a new government will be formed through dissolution of the current government or through the reformation of it.
Opposition parties NC and CPN UML have warned of no-confidence motion against the incumbent government unless a consensus on the formation of a national unity government is forged by this evening.

Respected Editor, Due to the nonsense leadership in Nepal, there will be no consensus among the rulers in Nepal who are fighting only for power and money.Actually, they (susil Koirala, Krishna Sitoula, Madhab nepal, Jhalanath, Prachanda and Baburam Bhattarai)are all traitors who have no knoledge to save the Nepalese prestige.Dr. Baburam Bhattarai is more sincere as compared to others, but a controversial intellectual, who does not have knowledge over Nepal's history and identity. It is said that Indian intelligence organization became success to make him the PM and bring Nepal under Indian umbrella. So how we can find solution from consensus ? They muse be chased away from the regime for the sake of Nepalese peace and estability. Thank you. Dirgha Raj Prasai Dirgha Raj Prasai, Kathmandu, Nepal
