KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai stated that the talks among three major political parties and the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) will bear fruits soon.
We are striving to reach to consensus on the contentious issues in the new statute today and if we fail today, we would make in soon, said PM Bhattarai on the last day of the extended deadline to resolve the thorny issues through talks and parleys.
From Monday onwards, the contentious issues would be tabled for voting in the Constituent Assembly (CA) full House, as promised by parties earlier to the Business Advisory Committee(BAC).
While addressing the 19th anniversary of Pasang Lhamu Mountaineering Foundation on Sunday, Dr Bhattarai also expressed his confidence on the promulgation of a new democratic and inclusive constitution by the May 27 deadline.
The new statute will immortalize all the historical achievements and legally implement it, said PM Bhattarai.
