KATHMANDU: Nepal Federation of Saving and Credit Cooperative Unions Limited (NEFSCUN) marked its 24th Anniversary on Wednesday.


Speaking at the 24th anniversary of the organisation Minister for Finance Bharat Mohan Adhikari said it was necessary to make the cooperatives as a medium for the development and promote the life standard of all people across the country. He added that the NEFSCUN has been mobilised as co-worker to make the Youth Self-employment Programme brought by the government.


He stressed that NEFSCUN should prepare the strategies which help the government's policy for the self-employment programme from which nation's development is possible.


Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Dr. Yuva Raj Khatiwada said, NEFSCUN, which has been giving priority to community development programmes collecting the capital that remains scattered across the country should bring the special programmes to up lift the concerned communities and ethnic groups.


Governor Khatiwada said the programmes based on the community development only help bringing change on financial reformation in the country that the government needs to bring special programmes to this effect.


On the occasion, Registrar of Department of Cooperative Sudarshan Prasad Dhakal praised the NEFSCUN's efforts to make the cooperative sector strong. It should contribute to fulfill the financial and non-financial needs and minimize the poverty in the rural sector.


NEFSCUN Chairman Min Raj Kandel discussed about the services provided by the organization across the country.
