SARLAHI: Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Narayankaji Shrestha has said the opposition parties including the Nepali Congress (NC) and the CPN-UML have to accept federalism along with ethnic identity.
Speaking at a press meet at Hariaun, Sarlahi on Sunday, he expressed his confidence that the NC and the UML would agree on federalism based on ethnic identity following pressure from the public to do so.
Responding to a query of journalists, Minister Shrestha who is also the Vice Chairman of UCPN-Maoist said talking about the restoration of monarchy was just an attempt to catch fish in muddy water.
"The Prime Minister is ready to quit from his post at anytime if political consensus is guaranteed", added the Deputy Prime Minister.
