KATHMANDU: UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal thanked U.S for delisting Maoists from its Terrorist Exclusion List last.

Sharing his pleasure over the delisting with visiting U.S. Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Robert O. Blake, the former rebel Dahal assured of good relations between Nepal and US in the future days.

Dahal expressed his gratitude while Blake met him in the capital on Tuesday morning to inquire about peace process, statute drafting, and Maoist –U.S. relation in the wake of the recent delisting of the Maoist party from Terrorist Exclusion List.

The United States had removed the UCPN-Maoist from its Terrorist Exclusion List last week saying that Nepali Maoists are no longer engaged in terrorist activities that threaten the security of America.

Blake who arrived for a two-day visit on Monday is busy in holding meetings with national leaders, civil society members, business leaders, Tibetan community representatives, among others.

Assistant Secretary Blake is also expected to hold a press conference before leaving Nepal on Tuesday evening.
