After the treatment, a case was filed at the police station today demanding action against the guilty. Women’s rights activists have said that the police were dillydallying with the case.
Meanwhile, the Dalit leader also registered a case against Puriya saying that she was beaten black and blue by the victim. However, women’s rights activist Laxmi Gautam asked the police not to trust her words and warned of stern protest if the guilty was not punished.
According to locals, the Dalit leader used to beat Puriya and other elderly people in the village. Mayawati refuted the allegation and sought police support for justice.
