MUMBAI: Wrestler-turned-actor Dara Singh, who is in the hospital battling for his life since three days after suffering a cardiac arrest, still remains critical. Singh was brought to Kokilaben hospital in an emergency condition on July 7. He had suffered a cardiac arrest and since then he is in the ICU.

“He is still very critical and in the ICU... on ventilator. He is on dialysis,” Dr Ram Narain, Chief Operating Officer, Kokilaben hospital told PTI.

Since July 9, there have been rumours that the 83-year-old has passed away.

The Commonwealth wrestling champion entered film industry in the fifties and is known for his roles in King Kong and Faulad. He was last seen in Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met’(2007) playing Kareena Kapoor’s grandfather. The veteran actor played the character of Hanuman in Ramanand Sagar’s epic television series

Ramayan.

From his first marriage, he has a son named Parduman Singh Randhawa and from his second marriage he has five children — two sons and three daughters including TV-film actor Vidhu Dara Singh.
