In a press statement issued today, the Denmark-based society said Gundersen, has visited Nepal more than 40 times and travelled extensively in the country, has already served as a board member of the society and is also the representative of the Nepal Tourism Board in Denmark.

Gundersen is the founder-director of Kipling Travel, a Denmark-based agency specialising in guided tours to Nepal and a partner agent of Explore Himalaya travel & Adventure, Nepal.

Since the establishment of Nepal-Denmark diplomatic ties in December 1967, the bond between the two countries has grown very strong.

The European country has been helping the government of Nepal in developing the country through its various foreign aid programmes and has emerged as one of the prominent foreign aid donor countries in Nepal.

Established in 1969, the society comprises volunteers, who work for promoting relations and development of tourism, trade and culture between Denmark and Nepal.
