POKHARA: Nepali Congress senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba on Thursday claimed that rampant undemocratic practices within the party have created division.
Deuba who has arrived in Pokhara to inaugurate a general assembly of Nepal Press Union, Kaski also blamed the party president Sushil Koirala of trying to pressurise and threaten leaders through his attitude and added, it would ultimately lead the party towards division.
Addressing the party cadres here in the district today, leader Deuba said “Most of the party central leaders are afraid to put forth their views inside the party.”
The leaders are compelled to live under the president’s pressure and threats which has weakened the party Deuba said, urging all to speak against the undemocratic activities prevailing within the party.
Reiterating his dissatisfaction towards the party’s decision to dissolve four of its sister organisations, he claimed that there was a struggle of principles within the party.
During the party unification, there was an understanding among the leaders not to dissolve the sister organisations but the party president breached the agreement, he alleged.
