JANAKPUR: District Agricultural Office, Dhanusha, has said that Dhanusha district is likely to produce mangoes worth Rs 677 million this year, thanks to positive growth in mango production this year.
The office said that that mango production is estimated to reach 20345 metric tonnes.
Planning officer at the office Surenu Goit said mango farming is being done in 2045 metric hectares of land in the district year.
Last year, the district produced 4145 metric tonnes of mango from 1974 hectares of land.
Some 20 per cent of the mangoes produced in the district is being exported to India with major cities of the country including the capital city, Pokhara and others to consume the mango of Dhanusha.
