BIRATNAGAR: Indian police have informed the Nepali authorities about the discovery of two dead bodies in the Indian state of West Bengal on Saturday.
Though the identification of the deceased has not been disclosed, the discovery has been colligated to the abduction of Biratnagar-based industrialist Ganga Bisan Rathi. The bodies were found on the banks of a river.
Rathi has gone missing since January 10. Shiva Sena Nepal leader Chandra Chudal was allegedly involved Rathi’s disappearance.
According to the police sources Chudal, a resident of Biratnagar who enjoyed good relations with Rathi, had taken him to Siliguri in India before handing him over to the kidnappers there.
Chudal has been on the run ever since and the police of both Nepal and India have launched a manhunt to nab him.
Siliguri police on Monday had arrested GK Mishra and Abajit Ghosh in Kolkata with IRs 5 million.
According to police investigation, the duo had demanded USD lakh in ransom from Rathi’s family and had received Rs 5 million.
