DHULIKHEL: A day after the party’s national cadres’ meet in the Capital took a decision to go for multi-identity basis for state restructuring, former CA members representing the CPN-UML, who have been lobbying for single identity-based federalism, have come to Dhulikhel to participate in a gathering that is supposed to devise their future strategy.
Over 17 Janajati and Madhesi UML former CA members including the disgruntled party vice-chairperson Ashok Rai are participating in the two-day gathering at the Dhulikhel-based Mirabel Hotel and Resort from today, taking exception over the party’s official stand on state restructuring through the Tuesday’s national cadres’ gathering.
“Our gathering has no other ulterior motive as for now except discussing and finding a way out of the present deadlock facing the country,” said Ramchandra Jha, one of the participants, adding, the issue about if the party would stay united will be decided in course of time.
Further, accusing the party chairperson of failing to resolve the issues facing the party and standing against the identity-based federalism, Jha said serious discussions about the party’s Tuesday’ decision will be held at the gathering.
