KATHMANDU: National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) today wrote a letter to Office of the Prime Minister of Council of Ministers (OPMCM) asking them to show concern about distributing relief to victims of natural disaster and epidemics.
An NHRC press statement has asked OPMCM to distribute instant relief and treatment to victims of natural disaster and patients of water borne diseases in various part of the country.
With the onset of monsoon, diarrhoea, dysentery and cholera patients has increased. The statement said deaths are being recorded as the government has failed to provide enough health services in these areas.NHRC has also asked the government to provide relief to victims of flood and landslide districts like Doti, Banke, Kailali, Bajura, Darchula, Manang and Kapilvastu. The letter has also asked the government to send ample number of health personnel to affected areas.
