Donate blood‚ says Vice-president Jha

KATHMANDU: Vice-president Parmananda Jha has stressed the need to donate blood to save lives. Addressing the 500th blood donation programme organised by Pashupati Marbadi Service Committee today, Vice-president Jha stressed the need to raise awareness among the public on blood donation. The youth should take the message to the grassroots level that any healthy person could donate blood and thus avert a shortage of blood, he further said. Chairman of the committee, Suvash Goyal, said the general public’s apathy towards blood donation has complicated treatment of patients. Ninety pints of blood was collected at the programme. In course of five years, the committee is learnt to have collected 19,200 pints of blood. Various personalities and organisations were felicitated at the programme.
