GAJURI: A truck driver died on Monday night when another truck collided with his truck at Benighat Bazaar in Dhading, along the East-West highway.
Forty three-year-old Pradeshi Tharu of Naulapur, Bardiya succumbed to wounds inflicted by the catastrophe.
Tharu was repairing the backlight of his truck parked on the roadside until misfortune shrouded him.
The driver of the truck which had smashed the stationary truck is absconding, said police.
Meanwhile, three people have been injured in another collision of two trucks at Chainpur VDC in Chitwan district along the East-West highway.
Six buffaloes being ferried to Kathmandu from Birgunj also lost their lives in the accident.
Those injured in the accident are the truck driver, 34-year-old Krishna Chaudhari of Thakurdwara, Bardiya, the buffalo trader 20-year-old Mohammad Matiula of Rautahat and the assistant driver 26-year-old Jagat Bal of Manahari, Makwanpur.
They are receiving treatment at the College of Medical Sciences Hospital, Bharatpur.
