ITAHARI: Hoteliers and tourism entrepreneurs in eastern Nepal have expressed dissatisfaction on the works of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).
At a press meet organised here today, they complained that the NTB has neglected them and accused the NTB of also violating the order of the Supreme Court, of late.
On the occasion, they expressed their dissatisfaction over the statement of Secretary at the Tourism Ministry and Chairman of the NTB Dr. Ganesh Raj Joshi that spoke of only Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan as the tourism sites of Nepal.
They said obstacles have arisen in tourism development of the areas due to negligence of the government and the NTB, even if there was a maximum potential for tourism in eastern Nepal.
Entrepreneurs of 25 hotels, lodges and travel agencies in eastern Nepal protested the act of the NTB and also charged that it was against tourism promotion.
Tourism Entrepreneur Rewat Bahadur Thapa, one time member of the NTB, stated that NTB should do away with the concept that only a few places are tourism sites.
