LALITPUR: The All Nepal Lawn Tennis Association (ANLTA) today picked up eight players for abroad training in Bangkok.
The ANLTA picked top four players each in boys’ and girls’ category following their performance after an eight-day selection tournament held at the Satdobato Tennis Court from July 27 to August 3. The selection event was participated in by 14 players — eight boys and six girls — between 11-14 years.
Pranav Kayastha, Sakshyam Karki, Abhay Gauchan and Samrakshyak Bhushan Bajracharya were selected from the boys events, while Bibhuti Karki, Mayanka Rana, Bijisha Shrestha and Mahika Rana qualified for the closed camp training from the girls’ section.
The Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) has invited 20 nations from the region including Nepal in the programme. ATF had announced to conduct the training in three different dates — August 13-24, August 27 to September 7 and November 13-30. Nepal will participate in any of these programmes. Paradon Srichapan and Tamrine Tana Sugarn of Thailand will conduct the course.
