KATHMANDU: Former Chief District Officer (CDO) of Kathmandu and Executive Director at Foreign Employment Promotion Board Thaneshwor Devkota died in a road accident on Monday morning.
A jeep ( Ba 8 Cha 4618) mishap at Judikhet along Kulekhani-Bhimfedi road section in Makwanpur put Devkota to death’s lap along with a person inside the ill-fated jeep who has been identified as Dr Rakesh Panta.
Driver Raj Kumar Tamang also sustained critical injuries and has been rushed to Kathmandu for treatment.
Devkota was traveling on the ill-fated jeep to Rautahat from Kathmandu to meet his sick father in Chandranigapur.
The jeep had plunged 200 meters down the road due to brake failure, police said.
Devkota was in the civil service and had served as the Chief District Officer of Kathmandu. He was appointed in the FEPB after he retired from the government service.
