KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has expressed its serious concern over the misbehavior meted out at media workers and attack on media houses in several districts in the Far-Western region in course of the agitation launched there, demanding Undivided Far-Western Province.
The FNJ in its press release on Thursday said that its attention was drawn towards reported pressure and threat issued to media professionals by the agitators and called for stopping such activities taking place in the name of movement at the earliest.
Similarly, the Federation has condemned the misbehavior meted out at RSS journalist Sharash Chandra Bhandari in course of the Nepal bandh in the capital on Thursday.
Bhandari was stopped by the bandh organisers twice at Gaushala Chowk and New Baneshwor while he was on the way to his office. Though journalist Bhandari provided his official identity card to the bandh enforcers, they snatched the key of his motorcycle.
Similarly, the Federation has condemned the incident in which the bandh enforcers misbehaved with FNJ Kathmandu chapter president Govinda Chaulagain and snatched the key of his motorcycle.
The incident took place while journalist Chaulagain was heading towards his office from his residence at Bhaktapur today.
