FNJ condemns threat to its Pyuthan chairman

KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has said that its attention has been drawn towards the news of threat to take life issued to the chairman of its Pyuthan Chapter and editor of ‘Hamro Ekata’ weekly, Sushil Pokhrel by locals Balaju Shrestha and Resham KC.
Releasing a press statement on Sunday, FNJ said that the threat was issued to him over the news published in the weekly on plotting of land, abusing him and threatening to break limbs, and burning the newspapers.
The FNJ further said taht such threats are interference on the freedom of press and expression, and condemned it in strongest words saying one should seek legal solution if there is anything to complain about.
