KATHMANDU: A delegation of office bearers of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) left for a goodwill visit to China on Sunday. According to FNJ President Shiva Gaule, a six-member FNJ delegation led by General Secretary Om Sharma will remain in China till July 22 visiting different cities and interact with Chinese journalists. All China Journalists Association had invited FNJ for the visit. The delegation includes FNJ treasurer Sheetal Shah and central members Mohan Kaji Nyaupane, Durga Bhandari, Prakash Chandra Pariyar and Rudra Bhatta.

TED event in Capital

KATHMANDU: TEDxKathmandu, an independent organisation, is presenting the TED event in the Capital on July 28. The speakers — respected and recognised businessmen, artists, and entrepreneurs — will present their world-changing ideas in the programme, a press released issued by TEDxKathmandu said on Sunday. TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) is an annual conference held since 1984 in California. This year’s theme is ‘Nepal 2030: Innovation, Change and Sustainability’, informed the organiser.

Chain snatched

KATHMANDU: Two unidentified persons riding on a motorcycle snatched a gold chain from Namuna Bhandari (17) at Saraswoti Nagar, Chabahil on Saturday evening, police said. According to a complaint lodged with the police, she was on her way to a nearby house when the gang intercepted her and snatched the gold chain before fleeing the scene. The culprits are at large. Police said a search operation has been launched.
