DAILEKH: Almost a year after Sete lost his life due to his son’s inter-caste marriage, government today handed over a cash relief of Rs 1 million to the family of Sete Damai of Dhanigaun of Toli VDC.

CDO Basudev Dahal handed a check bearing the amount to Sete’s wife Amrita during a programme organised by the Sete Damai Sahid Ghosana Struggle Committee in the District Development Committee hall.

In order to receive the amount, Sete’s son Santa Bahadur and daughter-in-law Ram Kumari Shahi had come to the district headquarters along with their mother Amrita.

Different Dalit leaders of the political parties had spoken on the occasion.

After Sete’s son Santa Bahadur married to a local upper caste girl Raj Kumari Shahi, the family of the bride had attacked Sete’s house on August 30 last year and killed Sete.

The district court has already handed life-imprisonment to the persons involved in the murder.
