DHANGADI: Normal life in the districts of far-western region including in Kailali and Kanchanpur remained crippled for the ninth consecutive day on Saturday, as a result of the shutdown enforced demanding an integrated far-western region in the new federal structure of the country.
All academic institutions, industries, government offices and transportation service have remained shut ever since.
Shortage of daily essential goods has started seen in the major market centers of the region including Dhangadi, Mahendranagar and Dipayal.
Similarly, the Tharuhat Joint Struggle Committee has also announced shutdown of the region for the past couple of days, calling for guarantee of a Tharuhat Province in the new constitution.
Normal day-to-day life of the people in the region has been severely hit with dual bandh or strike.
