KATHMANDU: Normal life has been hit hard in several districts of Far-West for the 8th consecutive day on Friday.
Due to the indefinite bandh enforced in the region by the Far-Western Ekta Samaj and other organisations to pile pressure on political parties for Unified Far-West, the region has witnessed a shortage of food, vegetables, cooking fuel and medicines.
Due to the bandh different Far-Western hill districts including Achham, Bajhang, Bajura, Dadeldhura, Doti, Darchula districts are reeling under an acute shortage of food stuffs and daily essentials.
Local hotels and eateries have been closed in different hill district due to shortage of food materials.
With transportation services coming to grinding halt, the supply of food materials, medicines has been cut off.
Sources say that prices of food items and cooking fuel have sky rocketed during bandh.
Even Markets have down their shutters, business sectors, industries, educational institutions have remained closed.
