DHARAN: CPN-UML central committee secretary Yubraj Gyawali today said that states should be restructured on the basis of both identity and capacity.
Speaking at a party programme organised by the UML Dharan, Gyawali said that the work of state restructuring could be concluded if parties reached an agreement on the issue. “Caste alone should not be the deciding factor of people’s identity, but culture and language too should be considered,” he said, adding, “Therefore states should be restructured on identity and capacity.”
The CPN-UML leader said peace and constitution-drafting have been deferred due to ultra leftist thinking of Maoist. Gyawali alleged that communist parties of Nepal have now become capitalists. “Maoists who have attained power after fighting war have made their fortunes with state money.”
Paying tributes to thegovernment led by Manmohan Adhikari, he said that in the present context a person like Adhikari is necessary.
