Fire consumes 55 houses

ITAHARI: Property worth Rs 30 million was gutted in a massive fire that engulfed 55 houses in Ramnagar Bhutaha VDC on Monday. A bonfire started at the cowshed of a local to keep the mosquitoes away had raged through the houses fueled by winds prevailing in the area. Property and houses belonging to 19 local Muslim families were destroyed in the blaze. According to police, Nepali Congress Bhutaha Ramnagar VDC president Sarauddhin Miyan lost property to the tune of about Rs 5 million, including Rs 1 million cash in the
incident.
