Fire victims get relief

SIRAHA: Fire victims of Kharukiyahi VDC whose houses were gutted on Sunday got relief today.
A team led by Chief District Officer Dhurba Prasad Dhakal reached Sisawa and distributed relief to the victims. CDO Dhakal said that the District Natural Disaster Rescue Committee provided Rs 3,000 and District Development Committee provided Rs 1,000 per family. Similarly, Nepal Red Cross Society, Siraha branch provided one set dhoti, sari, pots, blanket, plastic mats and five-meter of jeans clothes per family.
In the same way, social worker Santosh Agrawal distributed 10 kg beaten rice, four kg sugar, six packets biscuit and necessary medicine per family.
On Sunday, fire gutted 60 houses of 25 families in Kharukiyahi VDC, Siraha.
Victims of 12 other houses which were destroyed in the fire were, however, not provided any relief. Fire victims are now taking she-lter in the nearby school.
