KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) is all set to upgrade its website in the days ahead. The web portal of the country’s main diplomatic body —www.mofa.gov — has not been updated for long and it even lacks basic information about its activities and foreign policy matters. “After realising that our website is not fully updated, we have decided to go for a revamp and regularly update information about MoFA activities,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha. An official said ministry staff and technical experts have met twice to discuss the issue.
Now on, every division of the ministry will have to keep a record of their activities and feed them into the website. MoFA has around 10 divisions with a joint secretary at the helm in each.
“The media and diplomatic community have long been complaining about the sloppiness of our portal. It lacks basic information, archive and timely update,” the officer added. “After upgrading its site, the MoFA will direct its foreign missions to follow suit,” DPM Shrestha said.
