BARA: Four people were killed and three wounded, one critically, in separate road accidents yesterday night and today.
Ram Prasad Chaulagain (40) of Hetauda-7 died when the motorcycle he was riding on was hit by a truck at Adhabhar forest area, Pipara Simara, in Bara, this morning. Chaulagain was on his way to Hetauda from Pathlaiya.
Pathlaiya traffic office said Chaulagain died while undergoing treatment at Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital, Birgunj. Chaulagain’s wife Kamala, who was riding pillion, was critically injured and has been sent to Norvic Hospital in Kathmandu. Deceased Chaulagain was a member of Narayani Transport Entrepreneurs Association.
Similarly, Sanjeev Thapa Magar (32) of Hattilet-7, Mahottari died when the motorcycle he was riding on was hit by a bus at Bardibas forest area today. Thapa Magar died on the spot, informed Bardibas Area Police Office.
Likewise, Anil Thakur (28) of Bishnupurkatti-4 Siraha died when the motorcycle he was riding on was hit by a tractor in Siraha’s Chandraayodhya. In Prakashpur-4, Sunsari, three-year-old Bhawana Karki died after she was hit by motorcycle. In yet another incident, drivers of a truck and a bus belonging to Lord Buddha School were injured after the two vehicles collided with each other at Saatghumti, Biratnagar yesterday night. The injured drivers are undergoing treatment at Nobel Medical College.
Five injured
DAMAULI: Five people were injured when a taxi heading to Kathmandu from Pokhara veered off the road at Judadi of Jamune, Tanahu on Saturday. The injured have been identified as taxi driver Shakti Gurung of Pokhara, Sanju Gurung (13), Maila Gurung (53), Meena Gurung (35) and Sabin Gurung (14). All the injured have been sent to Western Regional Hospital, Pokhara, informed police.
