KATHMANDU: Police on Friday night arrested 17 alleged miscreants, including Arjun Puri (24) of Samakhusi, for assaulting on-duty cops over police intervention in a brawl in Pokhara Dohori Saanjh, Thamel. Metropolitan Police Sector, Durbar Marg sent a team to the restaurant after learning they were indulged in late-night drink and scuffle. Four cops, including SI Bishal Bharati, were injured in the scuffle. 

10-year-old ‘kills self’

KATHMANDU: A 10-year-old boy was found dead in his house in Imadole- 2, Lalitpur, on Friday evening. He has been identified as Rohan Budhathoki, grandson of Jagat Bahadur Thapa. According to the police, his body was dangling from ceiling with a noose around his neck. Investigation is under way, said the police.

Man held with hashish

KATHMANDU: Securities at Tribhuvan International Airport on Saturday morning detained Shambhu Gurung (31) of Lekhnath-2 of Kaski with 11 kg of hashish while he was trying to smuggle the contraband drugs to Hong Kong, said the police. He was on the way to board a Nepal Airlines Corporation’s plane scheduled to leave for Hong Kong. Gurung, who also holds Hong Kong ID, was found to be possessing the narcotic drug during a security check in Hold Baggage Area of the airport.
