KATHMANDU: A police team deployed by the Metropolitan Police Circle, Balaju apprehended four people with ivory on Monday.
Police confiscated two ivory pieces from them.
The arrestees have been identified as Krishna Thapa and Ram Bahadur Tamang of Banthali, Ramesh Karki of Puranogaon and Ramesh Timilsina of Dhunga Kharka village, Kavre district.
The ivory pieces have been extracted from wild elephants, police said. One of the pieces is 11 inches long and weighs 248 grams. The next one is smaller at 3.5 inches in length and 66 grams in weight.
