Friends' Club in quarter-final

KATHMANDU: Friends' Club defeated New Road Team (NRT) by 2-1 to book a place in the quarter-finals of the British Gorkha Cup Football Tournament taking place in the capital.
In the match held today at local Dasarath Stadium, Diwas Gurung of Friends' Club opened the scoring in the 18th minute while Prakash Budhathoki doubled it in the 31st minute of the match.
NRT reduced the score margin with Sushil KC's goal in the 48th minute. However, they failed to add any further.
Prakash Budhathoki of Friends' Club was declared the player of the match.
In the match to be held tomorrow, Samsung Jawlakhel Youth Club will face Yeti Himalayan Sherpa Club.
