Fugitive murder accused in police net after 5 years

GORKHA: The Gorkha police have on Friday arrested the murder accused after five years of the incident.
Chhiringfunjo Lama of Chhekampar VDC-5 in the district had allegedly killed one Sonam Wangdo of the same locality some five years ago.
Following the mutual disputes Lama killed Wangdo on June 1, 2007 as they went to pick yarchagumba, the lucrative herbs, together, said the police.
Acting on a complaint filed by the family of the murder victim, police arrested Lama from his own house. Despite many efforts in the past, police had not been able to nab him. But this time, the police picketed Lama's house before arresting him.
According to the police, it would take three days to take the accused to the district headquarters. Preparations were underway to file a murder case against Lama, said the police.
