Home Minister Gachchhadar stated that new government would be formed only after promulgation of the constitution

CHITWAN: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar has said that political consensus was the only option for the state restructuring.


Talking to media persons here today, the Home Minister said that country will be federalised based on identity and capability adding that there was no possibility of new constitution sans federalism.


Gachchhadar is scheduled to inaugurate the Tharu National Round Table Conference in Chitwan today.The Deputy Prime Minister said that federal states should ensure the existence of Madhesi, Tharu and indigenous nationalities.


Gachchhadar who is also the chairman of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Loktantrik) further said possibility of promulgation of new constitution has increased as the army integration, a complex point of peace process, was taken to a conclusion.


Gachchhadar added that political consensus was forged among regarding the issue of state restructuring as it was the main issue of the federalism.


He said that the Hattiban Resort meeting has paved ways to forward the works for promulgating the new constitution on May 27 and added that a conducive environment has been created for writing the new constitution.


Home Minister Gachchhadar stated that new government would be formed only after promulgation of the constitution claiming that the Bhattarai-led government will promulgate the new constitution and a national unity government will be formed under his leadership.


Minister Gachchhadar said that he had not expressed any statement of bloodshed over the issues of Madhes adding that "I am Home Minister of this country and want national integrity. But, I am committed to respecting all."
