Galaxy Public School and Rajan Memorial School (RMS) registered wins in the Group ‘B’ matches of the fifth Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) Running Cricket Tournament here at the Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya grounds today.
Galaxy defeated English Preparatory School (EPS) by three wickets. Batting first after winning the toss, EPS scored 129-7 in their allotted 20 overs before Galaxy overcame the total for the loss of seven wickets in penultimate ball of their innings.
Samrat Khanal was the top scorer for EPS with 20 off 19 balls including three boundaries, while Swikar Khanal remained unbeaten on 11. For Galaxy, Aradhya Jung Shah took 3-28 off four overs. In reply, man-of-the-match Aman Jain scored 18-ball 26 including three fours, while Bidhan Poudel scored 26 and Suyoj Tamrakar contributed run-a-ball 16.
Earlier, Rajan Memorial beat Brihaspati by six wickets. Brihaspati were bowled out for 76 before Rajan Memorial overcame the total losing four wickets in 11.3 overs. Prajwol Gurung struck four fours and a six in his 36-ball 35 for Brihaspati. Man-of-the-match Nikesh Sapkota took 3-11 for Rajan Memorial. For Rajan Memorial, Pramod Khatri scored 19-ball 18 and Kiran Saud contributed 15 runs.
On Tuesday, hosts Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya will take on Learning Realm International (LRI) School in a Group ‘A’ match.
