KATHMANDU: The Gas Dealers' Federation, Nepal has warned of launching an agitation if the supply of LP (cooking) gas is not eased at the earliest.
A delegation of the Federation met with Secretary at the Commerce and Supplies Ministry, Purushottam Ojha on Tuesday and urged him to ease the supply of LP gas.
According to the Federation, main towns in the country have been facing shortage of LP gas for the past three months.
The existing scarcity of LP gas has added fuel to fire to the woes of common people who have been hit hard due to excessive price rise of daily commodities, said Federation Secretary and Spokesperson Chandra Thapa.
In response, Ojha gave assurances to carry out monitoring on the black marketing of LP gas with the cooperation from the Nepal Oil Corporation and to ensure smooth supply of LP gas soon.
