There’s a new hairstyle to copy this season. So-very-chic designer Victoria Beckham aka Posh has always hit the news headline for her varied hairstyles in the past. Whether it’s her pixie cut or the short bobs, she’s carried every possible style with élan. This time she bade goodbye to her long wavy locks for a messy, angular bob. She tweeted a picture of her discarded hair on the salon’s floor with a caption, “Chopped it off!”
Hair experts are declaring it a trend already. Vaney Mehra, hair expert of Advanced Hair studio, says “Victoria’s new hairstyle is all about bringing back the bob cut with longer layers in the front, and trimmed and short ones in the back. It’s modern and glam, and is already a trend. One can nicely pull the hair back, clip it on, or straighten it for a party look. For a more casual look, one can simply leave it open to give an innocent yet trendy, out of the bed look.”
Delhi salons are cashing in on Posh’s chopped look. Hair expert Shival Ghai says, “Posh is starting a fresh trend with a diagonal, forward exaggerated bob with transient layers. She has also gone for honey-blonde and golden highlights adding to her brunette strands. Lot of college girls are asking for a similar makeover. It would probably become the best hairstyle of 2012.”
Beauty expert Ritu Makhija says, “It is a very versatile style and has appealed to a number of other celebrities in Hollywood, such as Olivia Wilde and Ali Larter. It’s ideal for women who are seeking a fresh, hassle-free look and an alternative to having ultra-long hair.”
This fashionable hairdo works best for those with long and heart-shaped faces. Hair expert Shikha Taneja says, “Girls with long, heart and square-type face would look great in these angular bobs. This look can be achieved by scrunching wet hair and using a diffuser. Another way is to loosely braid your hair in thick sections and sleep over night. In the morning, just rub fingers through it and open it.”
— The hairstyle has long layers in the front and short trimmings in the rear. It is suitable for a heart-shaped face or a long face, preferably with high cheek bones. Those with a broad forehead can go for fringes.
— This haircut is easy to manage, but one should ensure regular trimming to maintain the look and style along with regular oiling/ hair spa and conditioning. You can create a messy look with hair diffusers.
— These bobs are apt for summers, as it lets you sport those long tresses on the front — without the weight on the back — and heavy volume, which can be hard to maintain and carry, especially in the hot and humid weather.
